Our Pitch

We are Team 4151 or S.C.R.A.P. (Student Community of Robotics and Programming), from Weymouth High School, a robotics team that has competed for the last eight years in the FIRST Robotics Competition. FIRST is a nonprofit organization with programs ranging from K-12 that brings students together from forty different countries to build a robot in six weeks to compete.
In 2017, for the first time in our team’s history, we successfully qualified and competed in the District and International levels of the FIRST Robotics Competition. Last year, we built our most complex robot ever, Jade, who was able to pick up game pieces with a pneumatic claw and an extending track on a two-stage elevator, allowing her to reach well over six feet in the air. We also won the Team Spirit and Safety awards at our first competition, and previously got Team Spirit five times, Safety three times, and the Gracious Professionalism award, demonstrating our teams dedication to helping students gain the professional skills needed to succeed in their future careers. This year we also added wireless control to our robots, and the ability to be controlled by game controllers such as a dance mat, a Xbox controller, and a pair of bongos.
However, there are significant costs such as registration ($5,000), tools and materials ($3,000),  competition fees ($9,000) and transportation ($1,500). In return for monetary support, S.C.R.A.P. offers sponsors many advertising opportunities, such as your company or organization’s name or logo being on our robot, team shirts and website. One may also support our team in many other ways through donations of parts or expertise in a field.
Supporting our team offers many benefits to the community; students will have the chance to learn and develop not only engineering and design skills, but also leadership and business skills. We prepare students for the real world by serving as a catalyst for them to fully apply their talents to all of their further endeavors.

We are currently reworking our sponsorship levels to make for a better value for our gracious sponsors and sponsors to be, however feel free to let us know you’re interested and we’ll be sure to get back!
